Our Vision

Education is always the key.

The Pink Paw Program was first established in 2014. It was designed to help educate and support dog owners who have adopted a rescue or in the unfortunate case of looking to surrender their pet.

We provide free dog training support to help our dogs stay within their forever home.

After offering this service for years in the Newcastle and Central coast area in Australia NSW, the increased number of dogs in need of support led us to growing our team and taking on more referrals. Since then we have joined many rescue groups within Australia and now Internationally too.

The Pink Paw Program travels nationally and internationally visiting rescue groups and educating communities and schools. We offer free dog training lessons to all staff and volunteers to help re-home the dogs in their care. During our visits we run dog training classes for the public within the area and to anyone who has adopted their dog through these rescue groups.

We call this our “shine a light on a rescue”. People don’t understand the stress and pain these groups and pounds go through trying to re-home dogs to the best of their ability. We think it’s important for people to learn that surrendering a pet is not a one step process for these organisations.

Over 250,000 dogs are euthanised each year in Australia alone, commonly due to bad behaviour. Our biggest mission is to put a stop to surrendered dogs and prevent death row world wide.

I think we can all agree that children are and should be our number one priority when it comes to safety and education.

Hundreds of thousands of children around the world are bitten every year. This is mostly due to lack of education of canine warning signs.

As trainers we see these mistakes a lot, and it’s only increasing with the lack of boundaries our dogs have these days. So we figure, we can’t teach all dogs that they cannot not growl or react to a child or person if they are feeling threatened, we can at least teach our kids what warning signs to look for and how they should act around dogs to be as safe as possible, even with their own dog at home.

Our mission is to drastically reduce the number of kids bitten each year by educating the younger generation.

We offer free Kids & K9s seminars at community events and schools to help keep our dogs and kids safe.

Head to our online store for details on our children's book so you can teach your child the safety steps with a lovely bedtime story.
